GoMoWorld is a European eSIM provider offering free VPN, programmable activation dates, and even free trial data to test before you buy. Their website and app are well-designed, but the overall experience has some notable friction points that hurt usability.
The eSIMS.io team tested GoMoWorld's Vietnam plan from Ho Chi Minh City. The purchase process was smooth on both website and app, with multiple installation options available. However, setup confusion arose: unlike other providers where eSIMs activate automatically, GoMoWorld requires you to manually "Start your plan" from within the mobile app before it connects. This isn't clearly communicated and delayed our connection significantly while we figured it out. Additionally, despite hotspot being advertised, tethering didn't work in our test—we couldn't share connectivity to our laptop.
Network performance was the biggest issue: traffic was routed through Ireland (via Eir) from Vietnam, creating extremely high latency and poor performance overall. While GoMoWorld offers some nice features like included European VPN, free trial data, and a €2 discount (code: ESIMSIO), the distant routing and broken hotspot feature significantly diminish the value. The manual plan activation requirement is also a confusing UX pattern that needs improvement.
