esims.io team's takeaway

Airhub differentiates itself by offering true local eSIM plans in many destinations, including plans with native local phone numbers—a rarity in the travel eSIM market. While their website and app experience needs significant improvement, their network approach is among the best.

The eSIMS.io team tested two Airhub Vietnam plans from Ho Chi Minh City: a standard 4GB data plan and an unlimited plan with voice capability. In both tests, we connected to local Vietnamese networks (VinaPhone, Vietnamobile) with true local connectivity—no international routing. This delivered the best possible network performance and even provided a Vietnamese phone number on the voice plan. Setup was smoother than expected thanks to a direct installation link sent via email, bypassing the need for their poorly-designed app.

Where Airhub struggles is user experience. The website has multiple bugs, the mobile app feels unfinished, and the purchase process is confusing. We strongly recommend sticking to the email delivery method and avoiding the app entirely. However, if you prioritize true local connectivity, especially if you need a local phone number, Airhub's network approach is unmatched. They're also one of the few providers offering various plan types (local, regional, global) with phone number options for most destinations.

Network Quality and eSIM Features

Network quality & roaming

Likely excellent internet performance

Based on our testing, your internet traffic likely exits to the web directly in the country you're visiting (local connection). This typically means fast speeds, low latency for video calls and gaming, and websites should recognize your actual location. Generally the best experience.

Known Network partners:Webbing

Partners with both Webbing and local operators, providing true local connectivity without international routing. The 10/10 network quality score reflects optimal performance from direct local network access.
